My session at Brooklyn Recording with John Davis, Jesse Elder & Burniss Earl Travis II has been completed and I wanted to take a second to thank these three REMARKABLE human beings for playing with me. It’s been a 4 year journey thus far and I cannot wait to see where this music takes us next! Also, a HUGE thanks to Christian Scott for co-producing this project! Your ears were essential this week! And lastly, THANK YOU to Jesse Fischer & Camila Meza for lending their amazing/selfless playing/writing talents and to Natalie Fernandez, Chris Baliwas & Helene Roam for coming through the studio to document!

Singing with the GREAT George Cables! (11/13)
I am beyond ecstatic to announce that I will be singing with the great pianist and composer, George Cables, at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola on Saturday, November 16th and Sunday, November 17th. I have been working with George and writing lyrics to his Songbook for a little over a year now and am so happy to be premiering this work at Dizzy’s! We’ll be playing two sets each night at 7:30pm & 9:30pm and hope that you will come join us! Also, George will be playing with his Trio on Thursday, November 14th and Friday, November 15th so I encourage you to check this out as well!
HER at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola (10/13)
In March of 2013, I played my first show with an all female collective put together by Tiffany Ente and Nicole Sweeney in honor of Women’s History Month. This group consisted of Brandee Younger (harp), Kimberley Thompson (drums), Mimi Jones (bass), Courtney Bryan (piano) and myself on vocals. Playing tributes to our largest female influences and original compositions by the members of the group has been an honor and an enormous learning experience. The two sold out sets we were able to play at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola on October 3rd, 2013 were magical to say the least. Cheers to everyone who was able to make it out to this show and a toast to more shows to come for HER, in honor of!
Playing from the TOP (9/13)
After a busy summer, John Davis, Burniss Earl Travis II, Jesse Elder and myself were so excited to have the opportunity to play together again Rockefeller Center’s Top of the Rock Starlight Series. The room was gorgeous and playing for a brand new crowd was amazing! Thank you to everyone who came out to this show!!!
Summer Fun! Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola & The Sidedoor Jazz Club! (7/13)
I hope that everyone has been having an AMAZING summer! The S.E.Charles Quartet had a blast in July playing two Sold Out sets at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola and two amazing nights at The Sidedoor Jazz Club in Old Lyme, CT. I wanted to say an enormous THANK YOU to everyone who came out to pack these shows! Your support means more than you could imagine!!! Stay tuned for new music, shows and recordings coming your way from us!!!
